2026 Lakeshore Business Leaders’ Summit Set for April

The 2026 Lakeshore Business Leaders’ Summit will take place from April 22–24 at Sunbird Nkopola in Mangochi, bringing together more than 150 delegates from the private sector, government, parastatals, academia, and development partners.

This year’s theme, “Leading with Purpose: Harnessing the Power of Transparency and Accountability,” reflects the Summit’s focus on governance, ethics, and accountability as drivers of Malawi’s economic transformation.

The programme will be anchored by a keynote address from Nyimpini Mabunda, a seasoned business leader with experience in steering major organisations across Africa and beyond. His insights are expected to set the tone for discussions on leadership and accountability in a changing global economy.

The prelude address will be delivered by Christopher Mughogho, a distinguished economist who is Chief Execuctive Officer for the Zimbabwe National Chamber of Commerce.His remarks will frame the Summit by highlighting the challenges and opportunities facing Malawi’s economy, ensuring delegates enter the sessions with a shared understanding of the stakes.

Over three days, participants will engage in sector‑specific policy dialogues is sectors such as Industrialization, Trade and Tourism, Finance, Economic Planning and Decentralization, Energy and Mining, and Agriculture and Water Development. These sessions are designed to ground reforms in business realities and strengthen trust between the public and private sectors.

The final day will focus on leadership development, with sessions on ethics, integrity, governance, and stakeholder engagement. Networking activities will culminate in the elective Annual General Meeting, reinforcing the Summit’s dual role as both a thought leadership forum and a member‑driven institution.
