The Malawi Confederation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry (MCCCI), in partnership with the National Commission of Science and Technology (NCST), is proud to announce the inaugural Innovation and Entrepreneurship Fair (IEF), scheduled for Thursday, November 6, 2025, at the Bingu International Convention Centre (BICC) in Lilongwe.
This groundbreaking event marks a significant milestone in Malawi’s economic journey, recognizing the transformative role of small and medium enterprises (SMEs), entrepreneurs, and innovators in shaping a resilient and inclusive economy. With over 35 years of experience organizing flagship trade exhibitions such as the Malawi International Trade Fair and the National Agriculture Fair, MCCCI is expanding its platform to embrace the fast-evolving innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem.

Phiri: The exhibition thus provides a rare opportunity for untapped innovations, exposing them to business ventures
The Innovation and Entrepreneurship Fair will provide a vibrant space for businesses, innovators, and SMEs to showcase their products and services, forge strategic partnerships, and engage with new markets. It is designed to promote trade, competitiveness, and sustainable development, while addressing critical challenges such as climate change, unemployment, and poverty.
Speaking ahead of the event, MCCCI President Wisely Phiri emphasized the Fair’s strategic importance “By leveraging innovation and entrepreneurship for economic growth, as is the theme of this maiden fair, we as MCCCI would like to accelerate economic transformation in Malawi, by creating a platform that fosters creative inventions that can be adopted in the entrepreneurial ecosystem.
“The exhibition thus provides a rare opportunity for untapped innovations, exposing them to business ventures. Innovators including students should therefore take advantage of this platform. At the same time, this is an important business engagement for the industry as well as government which must be leveraged on, especially in this era that we are pursuing diversity, sustainability and technology as drivers of the economy.”
The event will be graced by Mrs. Gift Kadzamira, Director General of NCST, as guest of honour.
The Fair will feature a full day of activities including an opening ceremony, expert-led panel discussions, pitching sessions for start-ups, exhibitions, networking opportunities, investor meetups, and an evening awards presentation recognizing outstanding innovators and entrepreneurs.
